Cathie Wood’s NYC-Based Tech Firm, ARK Investment, Heading to St. Pete

If you were looking for another sign that tech is booming in Tampa Bay, here it is. Technology investment firm ARK Investment Management, LLC, is relocating its New York City headquarters to St. Pete, a company press release stated.

Additionally, ARK is collaborating with tech business accelerator Tampa Bay Innovation Center on a new incubator, ARK Innovation Center, built and owned by Pinellas County. The purpose of the incubator — built and owned by Pinellas County — is to support the region’s burgeoning entrepreneurs and tech startups and attract more top talent to Tampa Bay.

With an eye toward a July 2023 opening, ARK Innovation Center will be located in none other than the Innovation District at Fourth Street and 11th Avenue South.

ARK’s CEO Cathie Wood founded the asset management firm in 2014 to support disruptive technologies. She’s done just that by investing in blockchain technology, artificial intelligence, gene-editing, energy storage and robotics.

ARK’s NYC office will permanently close October 31 and re-open in St. Pete November 1 at 200 Central Street.
