Asian-Inspired Concept, Dang Dude, Coming to Sparkman Wharf

Ferrell Alvarez, the chef behind renowned Proper House Group restaurants Rooster and the Till and Nebraska Mini Mart, is preparing to open his second fast-casual restaurant at Sparkman Wharf next month.

Asian-inspired concept Dang Dude will offer “creative spins on dumplings, pot stickers and spring rolls, as well as double-fried Asian-style chicken wings.” You can also expect signature dishes like Rou-jia-mo (a homemade Chinese flatbread stuffed with pork, beef or tofu) and a variation of the Cobia Collar, an award-winning Rooster and the Till dish.

Vegans should be especially excited as the menu caters to vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free diets and “will use homemade vegan fish sauce and gluten-free noodles and dumpling wrappers wherever possible.”

Proper House Group also owns Sparkman Wharf’s popular Mexican restaurant Gallito Taqueria.

Dang Dude is expected to open sometime in March. Keep an eye on their Instagram page for updates.
