The Straz Center, Art2Action and Paint 22 present the Veteran Community Open Mic and visual arts series on Sunday, Jan. 9, at 6:30 p.m. at the Riverwalk tent.
Andrea Assaf, artistic director of Art2Action, and poet-veteran J-9, will co-host the event. DJ Cotton will entertain with some old-school soul and hip-hop and Paint 22 will display art exhibits featuring veteran artists.
Art2Action has been developing, hosting, presenting, and producing programs for veterans and the military community since 2013.
Spots for open mic are max five minutes each, in any genre or creative form. Pre-registration is encouraged but not required at www.art2action.org.
The quarterly event is free event and open to the public.
