ZooTampa, the 63-acre zoological park located in Tampa, broke attendance records last year with over 1.2 million visitors. These numbers established ZooTampa as Florida’s “most popular cultural institution,” a category that includes similar facilities and museums. The zoo’s previous record was set in 2016 when they welcomed in over 990,000 visitors.
In the last year, ZooTampa has opened new exhibits to the public and they’ve amped up initiatives around saving the manatees in Florida. One of their latest attractions, Expedition Wild Africa, allows guests to get up-close to large animals like the one-horned rhinoceros.
ZooTampa has high hopes of welcoming in even more guests in 2022 so that they can “create exceptional personalized experiences that connect people with wildlife and each other in fun, immersive ways.” To learn more about the facility and plan your visit please check out the ZooTampa website.
