According to a news release shared by Visit Tampa Bay, hotel revenue for the region exceeded $758 million in 2021. This number shattered the previous record of $50 million, set in 2019.
Based on these numbers, Tampa now comes in at the top spot for U.S. hotel occupancy, beating out Miami by 1.6%. Tampa Bay is off to a great start in 2022 after bringing in more than $4.4 million last month. This is a 32.8% increase versus January 2020, the former record-breaking month.
