After many months of speculation, it’s confirmed that Whole Foods Market is coming to St. Petersburg. This highly-anticipated addition is thanks to the partnership between local development partners J Square Developers and Atlanta-based SJC Ventures.
The two firms have joined forces to bring the first location of the organic grocer to St. Petersburg at 201 38th Ave. North in the Sunshine Plaza strip mall.
Whole Foods Market has various other locations around the Tampa Bay area including Clearwater, Carrollwood, Sarasota and Midtown in Tampa.
Additional details about a grand opening date are yet to be released but site permits and filings to develop the 40,100-square-foot building are secured and demolition is underway.
